Dr Haq acquired his Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1984 and then went on to receive his membership in Psychiatry from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1988.
Following his early work in Adult Psychiatry, Dr Haq acquired his initial training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the prestigious Institute of Psychiatry London, the Maudsley Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, London. His later training in the same speciality was at the Northern Deanery, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Dr Haq holds the practicing privilege at the Nuffield Health, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospital and Gosforth Private Clinic.
